Salvia officinalis essential oil

Even sage's Latin name hints at its useful properties since 'salvāre' means 'to save'.

The main active substances of this natural elixir are pinene, cineol, camphor, borneol, tannins, triterpenic acids and phenolic compounds.

Sage essential oil has powerful bactericidal, anti-inflammatory, antiseptic, invigorating, soothing and healing properties. Sage oil can be used to treat small wounds, scratches, burns, dermatitis, eczema and psoriasis. It can also be used as an anaesthetic and antispasmodic agent.

Sage essential oil excellently balances sebaceous gland secretion, drains extra moisture from the tissues and is an effective deodorising remedy.
