Resveratrol

Resveratrol is one of the most potent natural antioxidants, and is considered to be a part of the polyphenol class. It considerably surpasses popular antioxidant-vitamins E and C in terms of its antioxidant action.

Resveratrol is commonly found in grapes, forest berries and cocoa. In cosmetology it is successfully used as an anti-ageing component, as it showcases maximum effectiveness when applied to skin. It effectively protects the skin cells from free radical induced damage, thus preventing oxidative processes in them.

It possesses the ability to lower melanin levels, and anti-inflammatory action, especially useful since inflammation is one of the main skin ageing causes. It also stimulates the activity of ageing process regulating proteins and prevents hyaluronic acid breakdown in skin. Resveratrol considerably improves skin carcass due to its contribution to synthesis of IV type collagen in particular, which is a protein crucial for maintaining structural integrity of skin cells.
